Campus Movie Fest Returns to Witt
redline

October 29, 2009

The Campus Movie Fest made its debut at Wittenberg last year, though the program itself is eight years old.  With the help of corporate partners and sponsoring schools, Campus Movie Fest provides students with everything they need to create a film—from camcorders to Macbooks—completely free of charge.

Said Joelle, “It gives you an opportunity to work with great equipment and apply your creativity with whatever resources you have while still being a student.  It’s a great challenge!”

Joelle, who is a Communication major at Witt, won the Best Comedy Award for her film last year.   But even comedies come with challenges.  According to Joelle, “The most difficult part of the filming process was finding the time to actually film, especially since it was during lacrosse season!”

Aside from receiving the Best Comedy Award and having a great experience, Campus Movie Fest also gave Joelle some direction towards her future.  “I would love to continue filmmaking after graduation,” Joelle commented.  “I think what I want to start with some type of job in movie promotions or visual communication.  Making trailers for movies—that would be my dream job!”
