Sheryl L. Cunningham

Assistant Professor, Communication

scunningham@wittenberg.edu

(937) 327-7868

Dr. Cunningham teaches courses in Rhetoric, Media Studies and Communication Theory. In her research she is interested, broadly, in the "problem" of gender in American politics. Her research has focused on how gender as a category of identity is both implicitly and explicitly (re)produced in political rhetoric and in media representations of politicians and their rhetoric. She holds a B.A. from Bluffton University and an M.A. from Ohio University, both in English. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication at the University of Washington (Seattle) in June of 2008.  She joined the Wittenberg faculty in the fall of 2008.
