WMST 100 Women, Culture, Politics and Society This course focuses on major developments in the collective experiences of women. Beginning with the concepts of gender and difference, the bulk of the course will focus on women's identities, history, issues and actions in a global setting. Historically, women's studies has relied on the research methods of traditional fields (history, psychology, sociology, literature) and their attendant theories, but this discipline has also challenged ways of knowing social and cultural life. Women's studies focuses on women's lives in order to create new frameworks for exploring gender. WRITING INTENSIVE. No prerequisites. |
