Yanrong Kang joined the Wittenberg Education faculty in Fall 2009. She received Both of her M.A.s in Psychological & Quantitative Studies and Special Education from the University of Iowa. She is currently completing work on her Ph.D. dissertation in Educational Psychology. Yanrong’s teaching experience is with students in regular and special education in grades Kindergarten to graduate school.
Much of her teaching at Wittenberg focuses on helping teacher candidates to reach and teach a more diverse group of middle and secondary students, especially those with special needs. She is an enthusiastic educator who equips teacher candidates with appropriate teaching strategies that address these needs accordingly.
Yanrong has conducted research and written on the role of social learning and self regulatory processes of students with special needs. Her research interests include: self-regulation, learning disabilities, and measurement issues. She has presented at international and national conferences, including annual meetings of The Council for Exceptional Children and The American Educational Research Association.
