Dr. King taught at Wittenberg for thirty years, which period included Fulbright teaching years at the University of Damascus; Ain Shams University, Cairo; and the University of Ankara. He published four books--"Essays on Six Seventeenth Century Writers," " The Literary Moment as a Lens on Reality," "Old Tales and New Truths," and "Remaking the World: Modeling in Human Experience"--as well as a number of articles that used literature as a source of material on human experience. Dr. King started the internship program in the English Department, and introduced courses on Islam to the university.
