Maureen Fry, director of Wittenberg's Writing Center, teaches English 242 (Writing and Peer Editing) each spring semester. She has taught a variety of writing courses, including advanced poetry writing, professional and technical writing, and expository writing. As Writing Center director, she works extensively with both students and faculty on a wide range of projects: graduate school and scholarship essays, poetry chapbooks, journal articles, grant proposals, and books for academic or trade publication. In addition, she conducts workshops and gives presentations in a number of venues, from the Wittenberg campus to national conferences. She is the advisor for both Spectrum, Wittenberg's journal of student non-fiction, and The Wittenberg Review of Literature and Art, which publishes student poetry, short fiction, and art. During the summer, she writes and gardens on her 150 acre farm in Champaign county.
