Associate Professor of Political Science, J. Robert Baker, teaches political science at the introductory and upper levels. Recipient of the 1990 Omicron Delta Kappa Aware for Excellence in Teaching, he has published an edited textbook, Readings on American Subnational Government , and articles in State and Local Government Review , Western Political Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and Southeastern Political Review on such topics as small city board systems, state political culture, U.S. state legislators, and Congressional behavior. He has delivered papers to the American Political Science, Midwest Political Science, Southern Political Science, and Southwestern Political Science Associations. Baker received his B.A. degree from Central Methodist College and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri. He joined the Wittenberg faculty in 1987.
