Timothy L. Lewis, Associate Professor of Biology, teaches courses in ecology, general biology, and environmental biology. He has also developed and teaches field ecology courses in northern Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Lewis' research focuses on terrestrial vertebrate ecology, forest ecology, population dynamics, and computer applications used in the study of wildlife. Current research includes spotted turtle ecology, white-tailed deer population dynamics, and forest management in small woodlots. He has received research funding from several sources, including the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Beaver Creek Wetlands Association and the Institute for 21st Century Studies. He has published popular and technical articles and presented lectures to the public as well as scholarly papers to national and international associations of biologists. He recently received the Omicron Delta Kappa Award for Excellence in Teaching. He holds a B.A. degree from Augustana College, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees are from the University of Wisconsin. Lewis came to Wittenberg in 1990.
