Professor of Geology, teaches courses in physical geology, general geology, paleontology, and earth history. His research and publications have investigated Ordovician graptolites, Upper Cretaceous foraminifera, the paleoecological interpretation of Cornulites, and fossil ophiuroids. Other professional papers have included study of recent intertidal marine communities and sedimentary environments, as well as analysis of stone tools and rock types used by early Indian cultures in Ohio and an archaeological Indian site in the Bahamas. Morris' recent research has been on the symbiotic paleoecology of fossil snails, worms, and crinoids from the Ordovician of Ohio. Dr. Morris has received grants for his work from the National Science Foundation, The American Museum of Natural History, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Morris earned his B.A. at Duke University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. He came to Wittenberg in 1968.
