GALBRAITH, ALBERT E., JR.
"Appointed instructor (clock repair and restoration) at St. Paul Technical College.  I have pursued my interest in history with almost thirty years in the museum profession."
 HARPER, R. EUGENE

"I am still teaching US History at the University of Charleston.
I have married for the second time in 1995, Susan Foster-Harper. In 1995-1996, Susan and I spent the academic year in Croatia teaching about the US Constitution and American political process at the Law Faculty of the University of Rijeka as a Fulbright Scholar.  It was an exceptional experience.  As a continuation of our contacts, each summer since, we have held a three week seminar in American Democratic Processes and brought six students and a faculty member to the US.  We have them dialogue with all manner of state, local and national political and judicial figures as well as many in the legal profession.  It has been a very successful program. Further, we have an exchange relationship developing between students at Univ. of Charleston--a group of leadership students called Colleagues--and students in Opatija, an Adriatic resort city.

I have also done a couple articles from the Croatian experience.  And with teaching, these Croatian contacts, continuing work in historic preservation locally, I have little difficulty sustaining my interest in history.  I did four book reviews this past academic year; just finished three articles for a new West Virginia History Encyclopedia that is being published by the WV Humanities Foundation, and our church will be celebrating it 75th in 1999, and I am updating the 50 year history I did back in 1974."
