Class of 1961
BAKER, (SMITH) SUSAN J.

"I am starting my last year as an elementary media specialist as I plan to retire in June 1999.  My love for history which was so well cultivated at Wittenberg is very apparent to our fifth graders when I help them with their American history projects.  It always “blows my mind” to discover they don’t know the difference between the Revolutionary War and theCivil War. Needless to say, we start our lessons out very simply!"

GANZ, A. HARDING

"No recent developments, except that I continue to enjoy teaching European and military history at the OSU
Newark campus, and occasionally publish on tank warfare in WWII.

Continue to sustain interest in history by teaching and writing history!  Greetings especially to Dr. Bob Hartje, and
remembering my advisor, Margaret Ermarth, and having fond memories of Wittenberg and my Lambda Chi Alpha
          fraternity in general.

Liberal arts, humanities are always on the defensive.  I still suggest to students to major in what interests them, a
college degree in whatever field will stand them in good stead.  Reading, writing, analyzing, sensing precedents,
understanding differing interpretations, different points of view, will always be of value."
