Poem on Hollenbeck Hall:
In case you don’t read German, here is what you're seeing:
It's in the form of a love letter. Most of the bricks show German pronouns (he, her, him, me, our, etc....) As your eye follows the flow of the pronouns, you are led to the following statement:
"Ohne das Du, geht das Ich verloren". You could paraphrase that line as: Where there is no "thou", the "I" perishes. (Shades of Martin Buber!)
