Degree Options

Spanish Major

Requirements: 

12 semester hours at the 200 level, including Spanish 264 and 265

12 semester hours at the 300 level, including Spanish 301 or 302

12 semester hours at the 400 level, including Spanish 450

Spanish 301 or 302, Spanish 450, and one other 400-level course must be completed at Wittenberg. All coursework for the major must be taught in Spanish with the following exception: four semester hours of Hispanic Literature 130 may count toward the major with permission of the instructor. These students will be asked to complete a reading and/or writing assignment in Spanish either during the course or retroactively is necessary.

Spanish Minor

Requirements: 

12 semester hours at the 200 level, including Spanish 264 and 265, four semester hours at the 300 level, and four semester hours at the 400 level. All coursework for the major must be taught in Spanish. Students may only take classes for the minor using the pass-fail option with the instructor's permission.

 

Licensure for Teaching in Spanish

Students interested in pursuing a course of study leading to a license to teach Spanish should contact their adviser or the Education Department for specific requirements.
