Sarah Perkins

Life at Wittenberg

Graduation Year: 1993

Major: Mathematics

Minor: Economics and Business

Department Activities: I worked in the Math office for 3 years (doing whatever needed to be done) and assisted Dr. Wilson in grading.  I was also a tutor in the Math tutoring center.

Extra Curricular: WUSO General Manager, Union Board

Most Helpful Courses: My most helpful classes were my business and economics classes.  At the time I was at Witt, we did not have an applications major, so I’d be interested to see what that’s all about.  My Business and Econ classes let me channel my analytically skills, which were developed through all of my Math classes, toward real-world business/economic models.

Courses You Wish You Would’ve Taken: I wish there were more math application classes when I was there.  I’m happy to see them now.  Applying the mathematical models would have given me more guidance with post-graduation goals and using more of my Math major immediately after school.

Most Helpful Experiences: Getting my internship at Cincinnati Bell telephone through the career center.  I had this internship for 3 years and it really prepared me for my job after college.
