Department Activities: In the summer of 2009 I completed an independent study in Industrial Organizational Psychology with Dr. Jeff Brookings. I was taking the course in preparation for applying to graduate school and gaining important information about the i/o field. I also completed a University Honors Thesis through the Psychology Department. My committee included: Dr. Brookings, Dr. Gradwohl and Dr. Brown.

Athletics: Volleyball

Extra Curricular Activities: Intramural Basketball and flag football. ODK, Psi Chi, Mortar Board (membership coordinator), ALD (VP), tutoring 5/6/7^th graders through the math workshop, HPER center manager, Alumni relations/computational times as work study jobs with Dr. Andrews and Dr. Parker.

Advice: If anyone wants to look at Virginia Tech for graduate school I would be glad to give them a tour and place to stay while in Blacksburg or send them some information from the stats/psychology departments.

Most Helpful Courses: Independent study, all my psychology labs, Leadership in Management Honors Seminar, honors Thesis, everything Stats…especially 337.

Most Helpful Experiences: Honors Thesis: I am in a research program, so doing a thesis project in the psychology department was so helpful in preparing me for research now. Also, the stats senior project was very helpful in creating a measure to administer to participants/students.

First Job: I’m in graduate school on full funding. I also work as a GTA. I teach a recitation section of introductory psychology.

Current Job: TA

I teach a companion 50 minute introductory psychology class section twice a week. My students go to lecture with two professors twice a week then see me once a week.

Salary: POOR full tuition + stipend ($1000-$2000/month)
