Internships redline

Wittenberg students in a wide variety of backgrounds have found unique internships in the field of Computational Science.

Summer 2008

Melissa Cederqvist (2010), working with AFRL, Research Directorate used computational molecular dynamics techniques to study heat transfer properties of polymers. The work is continuing through the current semester.  WPAFB research at Wittenberg funded by DOE

Adeline Brym (2010) continues the work begun in 2006 by Tim Verrilli in the investigation of properties of thiazole as a potential material for use in new battery and energy storage technologies. WPAFB research at Wittenberg funded by DOE

Janelle Mahowald (2010) – Computational Chemistry - research at Wittenberg funded by DOE

Nam Vu (2010) – Comparison of US and Chinese economic performance – research at Wittenberg, funded by DOE

Laura Linden (2008) – 3D visualization and animation development – experience at Wittenberg funded by Future Jobs

Molly Dannaher (2010) – 3D visualization and animation in science – experience at Wittenberg funded by Future Jobs

Jessica Brewer (2010) – 3D visualization and animation of urban environments – experience at Wittenberg lead by WPAFB and funded by DOE

Jason Barkeloo (2010) – Software development and validation of medical devices – experience funded by Future Path Medical at Future Path Medical

Molly Tingley (2010) – Biopathology and radiology experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital – funded by DOE

Rebecca Atkins (2010) – Cancer research and bioinformatics – funded by University of Michigan at University of Michigan

Some examples of past experiences include working for:

*Over the past several years, Wittenberg has developed an internship with Datatel Corporation, a leading producer of software systems for universities. Each summer, several students train and work at Datatel's corporate home in Virginia, then return to Wittenberg to work in the University Computing Center. Many of these student join Datatel after graduation.
