Springfield, OH—The Wittenberg University Department of Management has selected thirteen students for distinguished honors for their Management Senior Portfolios. Each year the Management faculty selects the most outstanding portfolios. This year 55 management majors presented portfolios. Students whose portfolios represent the highest caliber of work are given the title of Distinguished.
Portfolios serve as a compilation of seniors’ management knowledge and experiences, and exceptional evidence of their ability to apply management concepts and theory. Students also use their portfolios in job interviews and admission to graduate or professional programs.
This year’s distinguished seniors are: Kyle Barger from Pickerington, Ohio, Zackary Bitzer from Batavia, Ohio, Alyssa Bray from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Clare Bucheit from Cincinnati, Ohio, Jenna Corwin from Louisville, Kentucky, Tara Hervas from Mason, Ohio, Jason Holmberg from Miamisburg, Ohio, Ashley McGreevey from Rocky River, Ohio, Amy Nilson from Dayton, Ohio, Stacey Powers from Sidney, Ohio, Joshua Richards from Cincinnati, Ohio, Jessica Shirkey from Macomb, Michigan, and Margret Zmrazek from Medina, Ohio. A student who is given the title of distinguished portfolio possesses qualities and has amassed experience that makes them stand out.
For the first time, managers were asked to judge the oral presentations of the students chosen as candidates for 2007 Distinguished Senior Management Portfolio. The judges were Jim Johnson ’03, Jodi Ahnmark Fandetti ’97, John Fimiani, Kelly Clutter ’02, Fritz Gilbert’85, and Kerry Pedraza ’00.
The Wittenberg Management Portfolio process has two parts: a physical portfolio, drawn from the student’s experiences since becoming a management major, and an oral presentation on a topic of the student’s choice, followed by questions from a panel of managers and faculty evaluators. The portfolio must contain at least three elements demonstrating the student’s management knowledge and experience.
