WittCAM team tackles retail audit for Springfield.

Springfield, OH—During fall semester Wittenberg Center for Applied Management (WittCAM) project management assistants Jonathan Fox, Rob Loeffler, Fred Tudor, and Tricia Wendt will be working with city, county, and business leaders to conduct a retail assessment. Together their efforts will make an impact on the Springfield community by collaborating with national retailers to determine the feasibility of selecting Springfield as a development project. The WittCAM project team plans to match retailers to Springfield’s new and improved image showcasing the Applied Research & Technology Park, new state of the art regional medical campus, and expansion of the City’s recreational activities.
Jonathan Fox is a senior management major from Urbana, OH. Fox has served as a purchasing and sourcing intern for the German-owned Rittal Corporation, a leading enclosure manufacturer with offices in over 70 countries. In addition, he has served on Rittal’s Activities Board which planned and hosted events for the plant’s employees. Fox has also held customer service positions with the Triple A Charlotte Knights (affiliate of the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox) and the Waterford Golf Club out of Rock Hill, South Carolina. During his time at Wittenberg, Fox has served as a residential advisor in South Hall and he was two-time varsity letter winner on the intercollegiate baseball team. Fox has maintained a 3.76 GPA, earning him a spot on Wittenberg’s Dean’s List over the past three years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports, and traveling. Fox will pursue an M.B.A. in the fall of ’08 at Ohio State or Clemson University.
Rob Loeffler is a senior management major (International Business concentration) with an East Asian Studies minor from Toledo, OH. He comes with three years experience as community service coordinator where he collaborated with service sites located in Springfield, as well as people from all socio-economic backgrounds. Secondly, he has four years experience working as a Wittenberg Fund Student manager where he connected with countless alumni residing in the Springfield area. He was able to absorb their enthusiasm and apprehension for their rapidly changing city. Thirdly, he brings a global perspective. He studied at the prestigious Fudan University located in Shanghai, China. While studying, He also interned in a competitive global marketing firm where he was educated by highly knowledgeable executives and assisted by full-time associates. He received 2 national governmental scholarships, 1 research grant, and has been recognized for outstanding market research. These achievements, coupled with his desire for growth, lay the foundation and allow for opportunity as the project begins.
Fred Tudor is a senior management major with a concentration in finance from Cincinnati, OH. Tudor has also performed office work for INROADS, Inc., an organization that helps students gain business experience with many prestigious companies. He has also provided customer service for Sports Plus, in Cincinnati, where he was also responsible for setting up events. Tudor is currently a member of CBS, an organization at Wittenberg that increases cultural awareness and campus unity. Through this organization, he was involved in a connectors program that helped incoming students adjust to the college atmosphere. He plans to attend graduate school or pursue a career in management upon graduation.
Tricia Wendt is a senior management major with a finance concentration and political science minor from Hudson, OH. Wendt is currently the student director of WittCAM where she facilitates the efforts of students working on projects in the community and coordinates various promotional and research projects for management faculty. Wendt participated during her summer of 2007 in the Local Government Management Internship Program in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She performed a special assessments project that dealt with assessments of sidewalks, curb and gutter, water mains, sewer mains, etc., as well as preparing bargaining numbers and ordinances for the City of Chippewa Falls. Wendt is a member of the Tau Pi Phi honorary society. She also has worked with alumni relations at Wittenberg, making phone calls and telling the alumni of upcoming events and asks for donations. Wendt, who participated in the Emerging leaders program her freshman year, has been an active member of Union Board and the president and treasurer of the Jewish Culture Club. She plans to attend law school or pursue a management career in the field of finance.
