Wittenberg Seniors Compose Marketing Plan

for Local Musician redline

January 13, 2008

Springfield, OH- During their fall 2007 WittCAM project, Angie Andress and Bill Thomas, senior management majors at Wittenberg University, created a marketing plan for local musician, Marianne Kesler. They analyzed her current market as well as located possible future markets for the musician. In addition, they researched possible sponsorships and new marketing ideas. They examined techniques to help the musician gain media exposure for the release of the new album. Andress and Thomas identified the musician’s current fan base and plotted a geographic map of where the fans are located. They formulated tables and charts to present their findings.  The project was wrapped up with Kesler’s Artist of the Month performance at Un Mundo Café.

“Your research and investigation were insightful, and the fresh ideas and suggestions helpful!”

       -Marianne Kesler

Angela H. Andress ‘08, from Mansfield, Ohio, is a Wittenberg senior majoring in

management with a concentration in marketing. She is an active member of Alpha Delta

Pi Sorority. She is also a student worker in the management department. In her spare

time she likes to read, work out, spend time with friends and family, and play with her

dogs. Andress plans a career in marketing following her graduation in the spring.

William Thomas ’08 is a management major with a marketing concentration from

Cincinnati, OH. He has facilitated his studies with summer study abroad experiences in

Lesotho, Africa and Seville, Spain. While in Africa, he volunteered in conjunction with

Habitat for Humanity and helped out at orphanages. Thomas spent two years as a Union

Board executive member, which is responsible for bringing and organizing many of the

events on campus. As a member, he helped arrange and market the events, which

included anything from musicians to comedians and speakers. In his free time, Thomas

enjoys participating in sports, listening to music, being around family and friends, and

traveling. After graduating, Thomas plans to spend a short time abroad and pursue

business in the marketing field.
