Leadership takes center stage in alumnus’ presentation

Springfield, OH – Alumnus Barbara Fowler ’75 will return to Wittenberg January 27 as the business department’s second executive-in-residence of the 2008-2009 academic year. Fowler is currently Vice President of Field Training and Development for Prudential International Insurance. She will present to both organizational behavior and human resource management classes before delivering her keynote address: “Leadership Lessons Learned the Hard Way,” at 4:30 pm in Bayley Auditorium. In addition to presentations, Fowler will also be speaking with invited business students and faculty at lunch and dinner.
As Vice President of Field Training and Development for Prudential International Insurance, Fowler is responsible for the training and development programs for Life Planners, Sales Managers, Agency Managers and Chief Marketing Officers in the company. Her focus is to ensure that Prudential’s Field Training Programs offer the knowledge, attitude, and skills necessary to meet performance objectives. Fowler was an Agency Manager in the United States, and then served as Chief Marketing Officer in Pramerica Poland and Prudential Seguros Argentina prior to her current position.
