Proctor & Gamble Marketer to Speak on Branding in January

Springfield, OH- Edward Burghard, the Harley Proctor Marketer on loan from Proctor and Gamble as Exec. Director of the Ohio Business Development Coalition will be one of the Management Executive Speakers during the spring semester 2007. Burghard will speak at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 23, in Bayley Auditorium on branding the state of Ohio.
Burghard received his BA in theoretical mathematics from the State University of New York at Potsdam and his MBA from Syracuse University in innovation management with a minor in marketing. He began his career with Norwich Eaton Pharmaceutical which was later acquired by Proctor and Gamble. Burghard transferred to P&G headquarters in Cincinnati, OH to help build its U.S. pharmaceutical business. He is now a Marketing Director in the P&G Pharmaceuticals business and leads the training of P&G’s Global Associate Marketing Director College.
Burghard, who has over 30 years of marketing experience, was chosen as a Harley Proctor Marketer because he successfully directed marketing strategies and tactics that doubled sales and nearly quadrupled profits of P&G’s U.S. Pharmaceutical business. Because of his experience in brand building and marketing, he was named Executive Director of the Ohio Business Development Coalition, the economic development marketing arm on the Ohio Department of Development.
