September 10, 2003

Springfield, OH- Charles "Chuck"Ramsay '64 will return to Wittenberg September 30 to become one of a very select group-a Wittenberg Fellow .  As part of his two-day re-immersion at Wittenberg, Ramsey will spend hours with management majors, in their classes, at a formal presentation ceremony and keynote, and at meals.   Ramsey will receive his Fellow award and make his keynote presentation October 1, at 4:00 p.m. in the newly dedicated Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center.

A reception will follow. Ramsey has had a colorful career. In his formative managerial years working with International Creative Management (ICM) he helped develop the careers of such musical greats as Elton John, Eric Clapton, Chicago, and Billy Joel. In the more mature phase of his career he launched the executive search firm of Ramsey/Beirne Associates, where he helped find the leaders (presidents and CEOs) of such high tech firms as US Robotics, Checkpoint Software, Crosscomm Corporation, Geotel Communications (part of Cisco Systems) and Spectrum Information Technologies.

Since Ramsey's retirement from placement consulting in 1998 he has been actively involved with the Nicaraguan Initiative Committee for the Presbyterian Churches of the Hudson River, an organization that works on construction projects in Nicaraugua. A former Entrepreneur in Residence at Pace University, and a teacher of entrepreneurship at Pace's Lubin School of Business, Ramsey serves on three boards of directors (including Wittenberg's) and serves on the advisory boards for two dot.com start-ups.
