WHRMA Interviewing Speakers were a Success

redline

October 30, 2006

Springfield OH- The third WHRMA-sponsored speaker in its series on interviewing was a great success. Dr. Wendy Gradwohl and Teresa Hoyt from Security National Bank presented a slide show with many important things to keep in mind while interviewing. The pair focused on the dos and don’ts of interviewing, as well as answers to commonly asked questions.

It was a great reminder for seniors as well as other management majors about the basics of interviewing. Everything from how early to arrive to an interview, to how to respond to questions that the interviewer asks, was discussed. Hoyt shared personal experiences she has had with interviewing.

Teresa Hoyt, who has twenty-eight years of experience in the human resources field, is a graduate of Clark State Community College.  She has held her Professional Human Resource Certification (PHR) for the past 15 years.  Twenty-two of the years were spent in manufacturing working with union and non-union organizations, as well as, with Japanese and German companies. The past six years have been in banking at Security National Bank.

Gradwohl, a 1997 graduate of University of Akron with a PhD in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, taught at Auburn University within the department of Psychology for four years, and joined Wittenberg’s management faculty in fall 2001. Gradwohl, teaches organizational behavior, human resource management, and applied management, and serves as chairperson of the management department.
