honors Amy Nilson with 2006 Pauline Burnett Award

Springfield , OH -At the annual Chi Omega Awards Banquet, held this year at the Springfield Country Club, Amy Nilson '07 was presented with the Pauline Burnett Award. This year's speaker, Sarah Arntsen Schatz '00 , herself a Burnett Award winner in 2000, presented the award to Nilson.
The Pauline Burnett Award honors a charter member of the Tau Gamma Chapter (Wittenberg University) who worked for years as the Assistant Manager of the Springfield Country Club. Today's recipient must have credible scholarship and excel in both business-related campus activities and in her employment experiences. Nilson, who was nominated for the award by Wittenberg 's management department chairperson, Professor John Fenimore , is a winner of the 2006 Woodrow Wilson Prize for Excellence in Management . The Wilson Prize is given to the department's top junior academic performers. Nilson also recently received the 2006 Financial Executives International Scholarship , the first time a Wittenberg student has won this scholarship.
Amy Nilson '07 is a Management major with an Accounting concentration from Lincoln , Nebraska . Nilson is currently the student assistant to Management Department Chairman John Fenimore and is also involved in retail as a part-time sales associate at Abercrombie & Fitch. Throughout her time at Wittenberg , Nilson has held several leadership positions, which include Treasurer of Chi Omega Sorority, News Editor of the Torch, Secretary of the Investment Club, Secretary of the Panhellenic Council, Vice President of Myers Hall Government, Secretary of Tau Pi Phi honorary, Treasurer of Omicron Delta Kappa honorary society, Membership Chair of Mortar Board honorary, and Treasurer of Ivy Ring honorary society. Nilson is also a member of the Order of Omega Greek honorary society, Pick 'N Pen Acacdemic honorary, the Teacher Effectiveness Committee, the University Honors Program, and has served as an Orientation Assistant and Rho Gamma. She was recently honored with the Chi Omega Pauline Burnett Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to those pursuing careers in Management, as well as the management department's Woodrow Wilson Prize for Excellence in Management. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, reading a good book, and exercising. Nilson plans to pursue her Masters of Accountancy immediately following graduation from Wittenberg .
Chi Omega has 72 members, 5 of whom are management majors, including Amy Nilson '07, Jenna Corwin ' 07 , Morgan Miller ' 07 , Liz Pechiney ' 06 , and Rachel Bonar ' 08 . Professor Pamela Schindler , herself a Chi Omega (Pi Alpha, University of Cincinnati ) serves as the faculty adviser to the Tau Gamma Chapter.
