What is CAP?
- As the focal project of the Creative Advertising Partnership (MGT 441), junior and senior students develop advertising strategies tailored to an organization's communication needs and goals.
Who can participate in CAP?
- Any student enrolled in MGT 441 is automatically enrolled in CAP.
Why should I enroll in CAP?
- To develop your planning, organizing, problem solving, creative, and communication skills.
- To apply the knowledge and skills you have learned in your management classes.
- To learn new and advanced level skills not taught in classes.
- To develop an advertising program report which can serve as a management portfolio element.
- To earn relevant experience important for a job search in many communication related fields.
What is expected of a CAP student?
- Develop a client discovery plan.
- Develop creative copy platforms and ads to address the communication needs of your client.
- Develop a project report, summarizing your discovery activities, client analysis, and ad recommendations.
- Meet weekly with your client and faculty coach.
- Keep accurate records of your client meetings and your daily project related activities.
- Keep client information strictly confidential.
- Prepare and deliver a progress report each week to your client and faculty coach.
- Complete a peer CAP evaluation form, at midterm and semester's end.
- Deliver an end of semester oral presentation of your CAP recommendations to your client & faculty coach.
What does CAP participation cost?
- In addition to regular course registration and text costs, students pay a $25 CAP participation fee plus transportation costs.
- You may incur transportation costs, depending on your client.
