The Wittenberg University Department of Management recently selected forteen students to be given distinguished honors for their Senior Portfolio. Each year the Management faculty picks the top portfolios from the pool of seniors who present their work during the formal senior assessment process. Students who faculty feel have presented the highest caliber of work are given the title of Distinguished.
Those who plan to pursue graduate or professional program admission prepare a graduate/professional program portfolio. "I was very impressed with this year's students. They get more creative and imaginative every year. We really look for those students who go above and beyond what is expected. Only then will we call them distinguished," said Maurer.
This year's distinguished seniors are: Dan Brywcznski, Adam Lemieux, Joanna Inskeep, Marcus Hitt, Megan Martin, Bryan Kujawa, Kacie Smith, James Kuklewski, Chinthaka Jayawardhana, Sarah Yuskewich, Michelle Ponstingle, Sabbah Sharma, Meagan Vander Kolk, and Ashley Palker. A student who is given the title of distinguished portfolio possesses qualities and has amassed experiences that make them stand out. "The portfolio needs to be original as well as apply management skills and knowledge the student has learned over the past four years," said Accounting Professor Wayne Maurer.
The Wittenberg Management Portfolio process has two parts: a physical portfolio, drawn from the student's experiences since becoming a management major, and an oral presentation on a topic of the student's choice, followed by questions from the student's team of faculty evaluators. Students may choose one of two types of portfolio. Students who plan to enter the workforce directly after graduation prepare an application portfolio.
