“African American Islam and the Struggle for Civil Rights”

+Audience Participation is invited+

An open classroom to evaluate the role of African American Islam in the context of the Civil Rights movement of the mid-20th Century.  Come hear about the Nation of Islam, Malcolm X, and the way aspirations for justice and civil rights were expressed through the growth of Islam among African Americans.  Dr. King and Malcolm X served as counterpoints for each other in certain ways, and we will explore this dynamic.
