Michael
Anes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology
for the 2006-2007 academic year. Dr. Anes received his B.A. from DePaul
University in Communications (1991), his M.A. in Cognitive Psychology
from Michigan State University (1996) and his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology
from Boston University (2000). Dr. Anes taught at Boston University
for one year after receiving his Ph.D., and then moved to Albion College
in Albion, Michigan for four years. Dr. Anes has a variety of publications
in psycholinguistics and visual cognition. Between his Master's and
Ph.D., Dr. Anes worked at the Boston VA Medical Center and at
Harvard University with amnesic patients. In his current work, Dr. Anes
is concerned with how the left and right hemispheres of the brain process
emotion-conveying stimulus materials such as pictures of facial expressions,
musical chords, and emotion words.
