Professor
of Psychology, is the author of various articles and technical reports
on alcoholism, human learning, memory, problem-solving, and decision-making.
He also has published a textbook on statistics and experimental design.
Eimer has been a consultant to SofTech, Human Factors/Life Sciences,
Universal Energy Systems, and Systems Research Laboratories, and has
been affiliated with the Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base as a research psychologist. He has also held an appointment
as Visiting Professor in Munich, Germany. He has received several grants,
including one from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
to study human response to low-probability events, another from the
Department of Health, Education, and Welfare to study chronic alcoholism
in Wistar rats, and still another from the National Science Foundation
to prepare an integrated program of laboratory instruction in psychology.
Among his current interests are the areas of decision-making and memory.
He teaches courses in these fields, as well as in learning, statistics,
and experimental design. Eimer was Chair of the Department of Psychology
from 1975 to 1984. His B.A. comes from Queens College and his M.S.
from City College of New York. He earned his Ph.D. at the University
of Cincinnati and has studied extensively in Germany. He joined the
Wittenberg faculty in 1968.
