The Department of Theatre and Dance offers students study of two performance arts within Wittenberg's liberal arts tradition. Through their work, students learn that the performing arts mirror the values and practices of society. They discover that the human condition is the substance of the art experience for both practitioners and audience. They come to understand the relationship of their discipline to the entire range of liberal arts studies - literature, history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, mathematics, and the sciences.
