The Wittenberg Student Health Center does not issue excuses.
Students are responsible for notifying professors of absence from class due to short-term illness or injury. The student health center will verify on request that a student has been seen and treated in the health center, but confidentiality is maintained and a reason for the visit and/or diagnosis will not be discussed without written permission from the student. In the event that the DOCTOR feels an illness or injury will require three or more days of missed classes, the health center WILL notify the professors,
BUT THE STUDENT IS REPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING EACH PROFESSOR TO DISCUSS MISSED CLASSWORK.
Students who live at home or who are sick while home are responsible for notifying their professors and us. If you miss class because of a scheduled appointment, you may request a note of verification for the appointment, however, it will not indicate that your absence was justified. Make your appointment for a time that does not conflict with your classes.
Under no circumstances will we verify illness or absence for anyone not treated by staff here at the health center.
