Diverse Academics
A Wittenberg education consists of three parts: a broad base in the liberal arts, an intensive course of study in a major, and an enhanced course of study that makes up a minor or electives. To best prepare our students to be competitive grad school applicants and future employees, we focus a lot of attention on strong speaking, writing, critical thinking and research skills. But just as important is an in-depth investigation of human behavior and diversity.
Students with that extra spark of motivation find all the challenge they could possibly want in the University Honors Program. For the first three years, members take part in small, intense, interdisciplinary seminars (such as Bioethics, Hitchcock’s Cinema, and Religion and Politics in the United States). Then, as seniors, they complete an honors thesis or project within their major.
