International Student Aid and Scholarships

A diverse international presence is important to Wittenberg's mission and the University is committed to assisting highly qualified international students in financing their education.

Merit-based scholarships are available to all international applicants. The average scholarship award in 2007 was $19,000. Scholarships for international students range from $4,000 and up, and are based on a combination of factors including: academic achievement, exam scores, personal success, co-curricular involvement, and financial need. Wittenberg is a NCAA Division III school, therefore, athletic scholarships are not offered. Merit-based scholarships are available to all international applicants. To be considered for full-tuition and 3/4 tuition merit-based scholarships, international applicants must submit Official SAT I scores. Student loans are not available for international students.

International Baccalaureate Scholarships

In an effort to increase diversity while continuing to attract the best and brightest students to Wittenberg University, the Office of Enrollment Management is offering International Baccalaureate (IB) scholarships for all diploma recipients. We recognize that high school students graduating with International Baccalaureate diplomas are not only prepared for college academics, but are also dedicated to serving their community. The IB Diploma Program dovetails nicely with Wittenberg’s liberal arts mission of educating the whole person, including an innovative community service requirement.

Eligibility:  The scholarship is available to all IB diploma recipients who apply to Wittenberg University.

Amount Available:  $10,000 - $15,000 per year.  The dollar amount is based on the number of points the student will be receiving on their IB diploma.

College Credit:  Wittenberg awards credit for scores of 5-7 on higher level examinations.

If you have any questions concerning the scholarship, please feel free to contact Susan Welker, coordinator of the scholarship at swelker@wittenberg.edu.
