The Campus Scene

From performances by visiting magicians and music groups to a leisurely game of Frisbee golf, Witt students find lots of ways to relax and have fun.  Post 95, a restaurant-style eatery, and Wally’s Pub offer a laidback atmosphere for casual conversation or getting together with a study group.

The Wittenberg Series presents enlightening lectures by accomplished scholars like Dr. Marcia McNutt, president and CEO of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, as well as performances by nationally recognized musicians, artists, dance troupes and comedy groups, such as the Beaux Arts Trio and Second City Touring Company.  Springfield is home to many educational and recreational activities as well.  The Westcott House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the Heritage Center, a museum of Springfield history, offer a glimpse into the past, while nearby parks and an extensive network of bike trails serve the physically active.

Each residence hall holds organized social programming that provide students opportunities to enjoy casual time with friends.
Students work in a computer lab in Kuss Science Center. In 2004, a Unix operating system, supported by the Ohio Supercomputer Center was installed offering the opportunity to engage in parallel processing on realistic, current computational problems.
Football, tailgating and friends go hand-in-hand.
The Pep Band is a student-run group that plays at all home football and basketball games, and takes road trips to some of the away games.
WittFREE is Witt’s rock ensemble and entourage – band members are faculty members and an alumnus who really ROCK! “Wittenberg Faculty Rock Ensemble and Entourage”
Social awareness organizations such as Concerned Black Students, Gay/Straight Alliance and STAND aim to promote awareness and understanding of differences. They hold campus-wide festivals, fundraisers and educational presentations.
