Wittenberg Guild was founded on June 1, 1940, by Wittenberg’s President Dr. Rees Edgar Tulloss. In the early years there were 16 chapters of the Guild throughout Ohio and nearby states. Springfield now has the only Wittenberg Guild.

Throughout the years, the Guild has contributed over $880,000 to Wittenberg in the form of scholarship support, pianos for Krieg Hall, campus landscaping, renovation of the Ann Miller Gallery, and sculptures and artwork for the Benham-Pence Student Center. Currently, the Guild is committed to providing scholarships for students attending Wittenberg from Clark, Champaign, Greene, Madison, Miami and Montgomery Counties.

The Guild’s Annual Benefit Style Show was introduced by Martha Rodgers in 1956. The Martha Rodgers Benefactors’ Fund, now The Wittenberg Guild Martha Rodgers Scholarship Fund, was created in her honor in 1989. Both fund-raisers support the Guild’s scholarship commitment.

The Guild conducts four to five meetings per year, sponsoring programs of an educational nature utilizing Wittenberg’s resources.
