What are corporate matching gifts?
Matching gifts are "free dollars" from corporations to non-profit organizations. Many corporations will double or even triple your donation to The Wittenberg Fund. Every year Wittenberg receives nearly $200,000 in matching funds. These gifts are vital to the university.
Am I eligible for a matching gift?
More than 5,000 companies in the United States have matching gift programs. If you are considering a gift, or have made a contribution to Wittenberg, ask your human resources representative if your company has one. If the answer is yes, its office should supply you with a form to complete and mail to Wittenberg with your contribution.
Also, if you are a participant in the GivingPlus Program, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will contribute 50 cents for every dollar donated to Wittenberg University up to a maximum of $400. In addition, Thrivent Financial encourages volunteers to support Lutheran education and outreach programs and may increase their gift up to $100 provided members volunteer 25 or more hours for a recipient institution or organization.
