Giving Societies and Clubs

The Wittenberg Fund has many levels of giving and societies that provide benefits for each level.

Benjamin Prince Society

The Benjamin Prince Society was created in May 1977 to honor individuals who have shown uncommon commitment to Wittenberg's academic excellence through their annual support. Their willingness to invest in Wittenberg has set the leadership standard for all alumni and friends of the University. Their gifts to the University are a true demonstration of Wittenberg passion and Wittenberg pride.

Heritage Society

The Heritage Society recognizes alumni, parents, friends and faculty and staff whose gifts during a single fiscal year total between $150 - $999. Last year, 1,604 donors participated at the Heritage level supporting academic programs, scholarships and aid, residence halls, athletics and much more. Heritage Society members help maintain the university's living and learning environment.

Heritage Society Giving Levels

David Hawley Associates

David Hawley made the first planned gift to the university when he contributed land where the old fieldhouse stands in exchange for a lifetime annuity. In 1990, the David Hawley Associates was established in his honor to recognize hose who have made estate commitments to Wittenberg by will, trust, annuity, insurance or other instrument recognized by the Office of University Advancement.

Young Alumni: Wittenberg Gold

It is never too early to reconnect! We invite graduates of the 10 most recent classes to Join a special gift club, The Ambassador Society, with a contribution of $50 to $149.

The Tiger Club

In the fall of 1998, the Wittenberg University Tiger Club was established as the official fundraising program for the Wittenberg University Department of Athletics and Recreation. More than 40 percent of Wittenberg students participate in intercollegiate athletics as members of one of the university's 23 varsity and junior varsity teams.

Donations to the Wittenberg University Tiger Club support these athletic opportunities available to Wittenberg students and ensure they have the finest equipment, professional development, travel budgets, varsity awards and training from the university's top-level coaching staffs. By joining the Tiger Club, you offer financial support and a personal endorsement of the fine tradition of Wittenberg athletics.

Your contribution will ensure that the Tiger winning tradition lives on! So, "Tiger Up" and make your gift today. If you have any questions please contact The Wittenberg Fund Office (937) 327-7419 or e-mail Chris Norman at cnorman@wittenberg.edu.

Parents Fund

The Wittenberg Parents Fund is a component of The Wittenberg Fund, which supports the university's operating expenses.

Is my gift really important?

Yes, all gifts, regardless of size, are appreciated and important to Wittenberg. Tuition only covers 50 percent of the full cost of educating a student. The difference between what is paid by all students each year and the actual cost to educate them must be made up by other resources such as gifts from parents, alumni, friends and the endowment income.

How can I become involved?

If you would like more information about The Parents Fund please contact The Wittenberg Fund Office at (937) 327-7419 or email Angela Garcia, Annual Fund Assistant.
