
This award celebrates those who have brought honor to Wittenberg by their exceptional and continual dedication to Wittenberg's ideals. Any Alumnus/a shall be eligible for the citation on the basis of exceptional professional accomplishments and service to humanity ahead of personal recognition or gain.
Butterfield, a '75 chemistry magna cum laud graduate, is now co-founder and president of the board of directors for PrimeCare of Southeastern Ohio, Inc. (professional medical group). Butterfield is quite active in his hometown participating, in the Zanesville band and soccer boosters, as well as being the Zanesville High School team physician.
Heinicke received her bachelor of science cum laude from Wittenberg in 1952 and is currently active on campus at Simpson University with the art department, she is also a book reviewer for "Choice," a book review service prepared by the American Library Association.
Jackson received her bachelor of arts from Wittenberg in 1975. As a 12-year
member of the board of directors, Jackson went on to become the first black
woman to serve on the bench in Franklin County by appointment in 1987. Later she
ran for the position and won the seat making her the first black woman elected
to that position. She is currently the Columbus city attorney.
Oremus received his bachelor of art degree in economics from Wittenberg in 1970. At present, he is with Eslocker and Oremus Co. Oremus serves on the board of many community organizations as well, including the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation, the Doctors Hospital Foundation and the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company.
