Read Matt's Blog

Wittenberg Affiliation: Professor
Hometown:
born and raised in Wheeling, WV

What is your favorite Wittenberg memory?
I really appreciate how the faculty dress in their regalia and march for convocations. There is something so regal and meaningful about those processions to me.

Why Witt Nation?
It's the latest in a string of eight years worth of "Wittenberg Moments" that make me so glad to be a part of this institution.

What is your involvement on the trip?
I cannot lie: I'm in it for the Graeter's Ice Cream. However, I may be going for the Graeter's but I'm staying for the alumni.

What is a lesson you learned while at Wittenberg?
Burn no bridges. In a small community, you will find yourself on face to face with everyone sooner or later, so it pays to hold your tongue when your temper flares.

Tunes?
"Let's Do the Timewarp Again" from the Rocky Horror Picture Show

Favorites:
Show: "Bones"
Movie: "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (He's a cool college professor!)
Team: Ohio State Football
Book: "Being There" by Jerzy Kosinkski
Food: Lasagna
Music: "The Electric Slide"

Interesting fact about yourself:
My first job was working as a "dock boy" helping people in and out of paddle boats at a park. We also had to lift those fiberglass boats out of the lake to clean them periodically. Work like that made me want to stay in school.

Road Trip Essentials:
Road map, water bottle, and Graeter's gift certificates
