Wittenberg Affiliation: Professor
Hometown:
Kansas City, Missouri

What is your favorite Wittenberg memory?
One of my favorite Witt memories is the surprise retirement bash we had for Charles Chatfield, Bob Cutler and Dick Ortquist at the BP House in 1999. It was a fabulous night of music and laughter, with a great sense of the Witt community.

Why Witt Nation: why not? It's summer after all.

What is your involvement on the trip?
Road-tripping in the van from Denver to St. Louis, meeting alums.

What is a lesson you learned while at Wittenberg?
Too many of those to pick just one after more than a decade teaching at Witt.

Tunes?
Lucinda Williams

Favorites:
Show: Top Gear (on BBC America) or Mystery! (on PBS)
Movie: Schultze Gets the Blues
Team: Mizzou Tigers (college) and Kansas City Chiefs
Book: Can't pick just one of these.
Food: Anything vegetarian, especially eggplant
Music: Eclectic. I play in a band that does contradance and British Isles music, but I love listening to alternative country, rock, and singer-songwriters. My nephew's band, Red Card Royale, is pretty good as well.

Interesting fact about yourself:
I was a Fulbright research scholar in Belgium in 2004-05, where I learned to read and speak some Flemish and where I came to appreciate the cycling of Eddy Merckx.

Road Trip Essentials:
new very small mini-laptop, mystery novels, trail mix
