
It is our recommendation that athletes with weak ankles wear lace-up ankle braces versus ankle tape. Studies over the years have shown that "Braces were found to be superior to tape in preventing and minimizing injury. Performance difference was attributed to loss of support resulting from tape loosening." (Cramer, 1999)
Our policy is for athletes to have us evaluate their ankles and recommend the brace for them. We sell braces at our price (no profit here). If an orthopedic physician recommends tape vesus brace an ankle rehabilitation program. We recommend this program for all athletes with ankle problems since an ankle brace and/or tape alone will not heal an injured ankle.
