
Wittenberg University Sports Medicine Center, a unit of the Department of Athletics, has as its primary mission the provision of modern medical care to the Wittenberg University's intercollegiate athletes.
(937) 327-6467 Ellen Crosbie came to Wittenberg in 1998 as the head athletic trainer. Crosbie has a strong and varied background in the field, starting with her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, earned in 1990. She added a master's of education from UC the following year and headed into the professional ranks at Shawnee State University and Huntington Physical Therapy as a certified athletic trainer from 1991-93. From 1992-98, Crosbie served Glen Este High School in Cincinnati as an athletic trainer while working at several other locations as well. From 1992-94, Crosbie gained experience at Southern Ohio Sports Medicine, while working with Dr. Tim Kremcheck, Wittenberg's team orthopedic surgeon and medical director of the Cincinnati Reds. From there, Crosbie went to Kentucky Rehabilitation Services from 1994-96 and Spectrum Rehabilitation Services from 1996-98 as a certified athletic trainer. Crosbie resides in Urbana with her husband Dave. They have three children, McKenzie, Ben and Allie.
(937) 327-6432 Michaelyn Sebold joined the Wittenberg staff in 2005 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Sebold received her bachelor's in Athletic Training in 2002 from Xavier University and her master's degree from Western Michigan University in 2004. Before joining the Wittenberg staff, Sebold was involved with athletic training on many different levels, including serving as Head Athletic Trainer at Portage Northern High School from 2002-2004, student athletic trainer for various sports at Xavier University from 1999-2002, student athletic trainer for the Thomas More College football team in 2000, and was a student intern for the Detroit Shock of the WNBA in 1999. Besides being involved as an athletic trainer, Sebold has volunteered her time at Regina High School and Mio High School (both located in Michigan), served as the women's varsity soccer goalkeeping consultant at Portage Northern High School in 2003 and 2004, and was an assistant varsity boy's soccer coach at Norwood High School in 2001.
(937) 327-6432 Allison Judy joined Wittenberg's athletic training staff as an assistant trainer in 2007. Judy earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Wright State University in 2004, and she has completed most of the requirements for a master's degree in the same field from Indiana State University. Aside from a year-long fellowship with the United States Olympic Committee as an athletic training fellow, her position at Wittenberg represents her first professional assignment. As an undergraduate student, Judy participated in an internship with the College of Wooster athletic training department, as well as working in Wright State's office. During her graduate studies, she served as the administrative graduate assistant to the head athletic trainer at Indiana State University and began her work with Olympic Committee. Judy was certified in January 2006 by the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and is a member of the Great Lakes and Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association. She graduated from Northeastern High School in Springfield, Ohio, where she now resides. |
