What Can We Do for YOU?
WittPath Career Services will help you make connections: with vocation, with majors, with internships, with potential employers. Your success in using those connections to find your calling will ultimately depend on the steps you take to build self knowledge and experience while at Wittenberg.
We can help you:
- bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world,
- learn about your interests, skills, abilities, and values,
- synthesize your experience into a strong résumé,
- broaden your network of contacts,
- investigate further educational options,
- change the way you look at the world - and how you see your place in it.
By pursuing the experiences outlined in the 4-year plan, you'll be ready for the world by your senior year.

Have you ever heard the adage, "You can tell a lot about a person from their shoes?" It's true - scuffed, dirty shoes means that you are sloppy, pay no attention to detail, have no professional polish, and no ambition. Nobody wants a potential employer to think that so clean and polish your shoes every time you go for an interview (or networking meeting, or informational interview, or dropping off your resume . . you get the drift).

I get a lot of people interested in working with animals; being a bit of an animal aficionado myself, I've taken the liberty of rustling up a few web sites that may be of interest to animal lovers covering a variety of career or service options: Not all zoo jobs are for veterinarians - check out the Association of Zoos & Aquariums! Interested in dog training? Check out the National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus (and look for a Witt Alum in the instructor section!) Animal Assisted Therapy has become more accepted in health care facilities and is expanding to school systems - and guess what? There's a training center and AAT group right here in Springfield! If you want to talk to a veterinarian (or do an informational interview or job shadow), here is a listing of the local vets and animal hospitals. There are a plethora of sites concerning animal rights and activism - I can only scratch the surface, but each offer information as well as job opportunities and internships (you may have to dig a bit for that): |
