Many employers have a preference for participating in job fairs over traveling to individual campuses to recruit. Such events are an economical way to meet lots of potential employees in a short time. As someone looking for employment, this can still work to your advantage if you are not looking for an immediate opening. Wittenberg seniors are encouraged to attend Career Fest, which is organized by the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. This event is traditionally held in Columbus in early February. Unlike some job fairs, employers who participate in the OFIC event must have at least one open position to fill. For seniors wanting to find work in the Springfield/Dayton area, the Brain Gain Job & Internship Fair, which is held at the beginning of April, is a good opportunity. Check the Career Services web calendar for the dates and times of these events.

Virtual job fairs make it even easier for recruiters to participate in such events as perpetual "employer booths" can be established on web sites. Check out the Jobweb Online Career Fair to get information on hundreds of organizations that hire college seniors for entry-level employment.
