
Outlook 2007
- To add "From" or "Bcc" fields:
- Click New Message
- Click the Options tab
- Click the option you'd like to have when sending messages
- Outlook allows different ways to view your mail at a glance - use the View menu
- To add a view pane, click View, Reading Pane, and select right or bottom
- To sort messages by various categories, click the column title or use View, Arrange by
- To narrow the field, use View, Expand/Collapse groups
- Use the Message pull down menu to locate unread messages, items from the last week, and other options
- Use Tools, Organize to sort, organize by color, or by using the View options
- Use Action, Follow up to flag messages that require attention later
- Deleted messages now reside in your Deleted Items folder. You can retrieve those at any time by changing the message back to undeleted and moving them to a folder right click the message for this option.
- Outlook can delete messages from Deleted Items for you each time you close Outlook, or you can do this manually. Tools, Options, Other tab.
- AFTER Deleted Items is emptied, you can still retrieve deleted messages for 14 days. Click the Deleted Items e-mail folder, then click Tools, Recover Deleted Items. Remember everything that's been deleted in the last 10 days will be in there, so using sort methods or Tools, Find might help.
- Using Exchange, there is a limit of 10,000 messages per mailbox. Not per account!
- Quota for e-mail on exchange is 00 Mb for students, ~1 Gb for faculty or staff. You also no longer be losing space on your H:\ drive to e-mail because Outlook does not save copies or attachments to H:\ as Eudora and Thunderbird did.
- How do you check your quota when using Outlook/Exchange?
- Right-click "Mailbox-name" in the left column.
- Left-click Properties.
- Click the Folder size button.
- You'll see "Total size including subfolders". Your quota is 1,000,000 kb.
- 1 megabyte = 1024 kilobytes
- From the main Microsoft Outlook window click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
- Click the Signature button.
- Click the New button.
- In the Enter a name for your new signature box, enter a name.
- In the Signature text box, type the text you want to include in the signature. You can also paste text to this box from another document.
- To add an electronic business card- vCard- to the signature, click the Business Card button.
- Click OK when you are done editing the new signature.
- Open the folder that contains the message.
- Right-click the message on which to base a rule.
- Click Create Rule.
- In the Create Rule dialog box, select the conditions and actions you want to apply.
- To add more conditions, actions, or exceptions to the rule, click Advanced Options, and then follow the rest of the instructions in the Rules Wizard. To run the rule as soon as you have created it, select the Run this rule now on the messages already in "folder" check box on the last page of the Rules Wizard.
- A personal calendar is available for you in Outlook
- Many PDA devices can sync with Outlook; some require rd party software to do so

- Invite others on Exchange to meetings

- NOTE: This only works if you *and* the person who should have access are both using the Exchange server.
- In Outlook, go to either calendar or contacts
- Click Share My Calendar or Share My Contacts in the left column
- This opens an e-mail you can send to another Exchange user. HOWEVER, this does NOT necessarily set the access level you prefer for the other user!
- Set permissions:
- Click Tools, Options
- Click the Calendar options button
- Click the Free/Busy button
- Click Add
- In the Show Names box, select Global Address List
- Double-click the name of the user to add you can add multiple names here - just double-click each
- Click Ok
- Highlight the name of the person added
- In the Permission Level box, select one of these ONLY:
- Reviewer - Can read your Calendar
- Publishing Editor - Can modify your Calendar
- We STRONGLY recommend not using the other options available
- Click OK on each window to return to your calendar
- To share your contacts, click Contacts and repeat.

You can return at any time to change access rights, add, or remove access.

- Go to owa.wittenberg.edu/owa
- Use your WINDOWS username and password to log in
- Items you will not see: shared calendars, shared contacts
- Items you will see: All mail, all filters that the web copy can handle will run, your personal calendar and contacts, tasks
