
Connecting to the Secure Network on Windows 7

Step 1: In the bottom-right corner of the screen, click on the wireless network icon.

Step 2: From the list of available networks, select "Witt-Student" if you are a student or "Witt-FacNStaff" if you are a faculty or staff member.

Step 3: Click on the "Connect automatically" checkbox if you would like, then click the "Connect" button.

Step 4: A dialog box may appear saying that the server cannot be validated. This error message is a false positive and your computer is perfectly safe. Click the "Connect" button. (If this appears again, click "Connect" again).

Step 5: Wait a moment while it is connecting to your desired network.

Step 6: When the "Network Authentication" window appears, type in your Wittenberg username and password, then click the "OK" button.

You will now be connected to the campus wireless network. Your username and password should be saved, so it will be much easier to connect in the future.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to access the "Network Authentication" window, then you will need to follow these steps.
Step 1: In the bottom-right corner of the screen, click on the wireless network icon.

Step 2: From the list of available networks, select "Witt-Student" if you are a student or "Witt-FacNStaff" if you are a faculty or staff member.


Step 4:: Click on "Wireless Properties"

Step 5: : Select "Security"; Security type: WPAZ-Enterprise and Encryption type: AES
Step 6: : If you wish to save your credentials, please place a check in the box. After the initial setup, you will only need to log in to use the network.
Step 7: : Choose a network authentication method: Click on "settings"

Step 8: : Select authentication method: Click on "Configure"

Step 9: : Remove the "x" from the box.

Return to the beginning of these instructions to set up your wireless connection.
