Apple (10.5 and higher only) directions - connect network printer

Set up the printer:
- Open System Preferences
- Select "Print & Fax"
- Click the lock (should be unlocked)
- Click the plus sign to add a printer
- Hold the Control key and click any icon in "Print & Fax"
- Select "Customize Toolbar" from the menu
- Drag the Advanced icon to the "Print & Fax" toolbar
- Click Done
- Click the Advanced icon
- Wait for the Type field to populate
- From the Type field, select Windows
- Leave the Device as "Another Device"
- For the URL field: smb://india01.wittenberg.edu/printername$
(see below for the list of printer names, and don't forget the $!)
- Name field: use the printer's name
- Leave Location blank
- For the "Print Using" field, select the driver for the printer
- If prompted for settings specific to the printer, just click continue
- Click Add
Printing
- REQUIRED - Download and install the PaperCutNG client software. Click here for directions and a link to download the client software.
- Click Finder, Applications, and open the PaperCut client.
- Type your e-mail address (sxx.jdoe@wittenberg.edu) and Windows (e-mail) password.
- Print the document - be sure to select the printer you want to use; look for India01 in the name.
- Type WITTENBERG\yourusername
- Enter your Windows password.
- PaperCut will ask you if you're sure you'd like to print the document - if you do, click Print.
