
Flatbed Scanners on Campus
Using the 24 hour lab scanners
- Double-click the "Scan an Image" icon.
- Lift the lid of the scanner and place a picture in the upper right corner of the scanner.
- In the HP Scanning program, click the New Scan button at the bottom.
- To select an area, position arrows to outline (draw a box around) the area.
- To save the picture click Accept
- Change the Save in line to H:\ (drive) or another network drive area.
- In the File Name line type in the name of the image along with the extension.
- For Bitmaps this would be .bmp (e.g. scan.bmp)
- For JPEGS this would be .jpg (e.g. scan.jpg)
- For GIFS this would be .gif (e.g. scan.gif)
- Set the Save as type to what you want the image to be saved as.
- Click the Save button.
Scanning a picture Using Hewlett-Packard Flatbed Scanners
- Double-click the "Precision Scan Pro" or "Scan an Image" icon.
- Lift the lid of the scanner and place a picture in the upper right corner of the scanner.
- In the Precision Scan Pro program, click on Scan options.
- Select the Preview option.
- To select an area, position arrows to outline (draw a box around) the area.
- Click "Output Type" and select from the list.
- To save the picture click Scan, Save As, and choose a format for the image.
- Name the file and save to either the H:\ (drive) or another network drive area.
