Agenda:
Item 1: UI 2.2 Upgrade & Schedule - Luther Hill
We (Rick Sparks, Dan Nelson, and Luther Hill of the Computing Center / MIS) will be upgrading the "Datatel" application (User Interface) on your office computers between the dates of November 12th through November 26th. We will be performing the installs in the afternoon from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Attached is the schedule, arranged by date, of which offices we will be upgrading and on what day.
In order for this install/upgrade to be as efficient and successful as possible, there are a couple of things we would like to ask you to do for us.
- If you expect to be away from your desk or out of the office during the afternoon we are scheduled to upgrade the pc's in your office, please do not lock your pc (using the Control + Alt + Delete keys), but rather log off of windows so we can still upgrade "Datatel" on your pc using a Windows administrator login.
- If you are at your desk when we arrive to perform the upgrade on your pc, please be prepared to log off of windows. One of the final steps of the upgrade is to have you log off and back on to Windows to test your ability to login successfully to "Datatel" and to clean up any Datatel icons that still exist on your desktop.
- Please make a mental note, or you can write it down, of who will and/or won't need access to "Datatel" and respectively upgraded in your department. We realize positions and personnel have changed since we last upgraded "Datatel" in your departments, and will appreciate any and all input/help with this issue.
A couple of things we would like to do for you.
- We will be removing all the "extra" databases from the list that appears on the "database" dropdown box, when you are logging in. You will only have database selections that are relevant to the upgraded version of "Datatel" (2.2) and Colleague and Benefactor (R18).
- We will remove all "extra" Datatel icons from your desktop that may not point to the upgraded version of "Datatel" (2.2) and Colleague and Benefactor (R18). If you are not present to log onto Windows when we perform the upgrade to your pc, there will be two Datatel icons on your desktop, however, both icons will point to the upgraded version of "Datatel" (2.2) and Colleague and Benefactor (R18).
- We will do our best to make our incursion into your departments as pleasant and painless as possible. Please feel free to let us know of any concerns or questions you may have concerning the upgrade to your pc.
