Wittenberg University's Network Modem Service

Wittenberg University has 24 modems dedicated to providing dial-up Internet service to active Wittenberg students, faculty, and staff.

Support for the dial-up service is limited to clarification of the on-line documentation provided at this site. These instructions do not include help on setting up or the installation of hardware into a computer.

**Important Note** Dialup service is changing to require your LDAP (e-mail) password instead of the Windows password. For Windows 2000, NT 4.0 or XP, remove the check from the "Remember this password" box when you double-click the connection to Wittenberg. If you have another operating system and have saved the password you use for dialup and have trouble changing it, try the link below:

For all operating systems, remove the option to connect to a domain (Wittenberg). Usually this option is listed under Properties, Advanced or Properties, Network.

Setup Instructions:
  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98
  • Windows Millennium Edition
  • Windows NT 4
  • Windows 2000 Professional
  • Windows XP Home or Professional
